ADHARA = Support
Is to help my clients unlock the fullest potential of their physical environments. Big or small, shiny or rustic, I believe that any space can be transformed into a place that nourishes and supports your vision for your life. It is about creating spaces that not only look great but that feel fantastic too.
For me, HOME is a space where your heart radiates with joy, gratitude, and absolute acceptance of what is…and don’t we all owe at least that to ourselves!?
“The ache for home lives
in all of us, the safe place
where we can go as we are
and not be questioned.”
– Maya Angelou
My love for interiors was fostered from a very young age. By the time I was 12 I had lived in 9 different homes, and I joyfully witnessed each one undergo transformation at the hands of my visually gifted mother. My playgrounds were lighting stores, carpet warehouses and the backs of paint shops where we spent wintry afternoons rummaging through endless volumes of wall paper books. Though I’d always had an appreciation for the physical beauty of a space, it was not until I started to decorate my own spaces that I became aware of the energetic and spiritual power of interiors.
During my university years I lived in a small one bedroom apartment. In the 3 years that I lived there my furniture must have been in at least 10 different configurations. My motivation for this constant change was never towards the realization of some perfect design, but rather as a response to a gut urge, an instinctual need to re-adjust. As I was growing, challenging, questioning, discovering, so did my home. We all have our therapeutic rituals and mine is playing with space.
Creating HOME is not only a means for self expression but also a journey towards self discovery. Incorporating the principles of Feng Shui allows me to ensure that the physical transformation of your space enhances your daily experience within it. What I love most about helping others transform a space is helping them to understand just how powerful a vehicle for change it can be. Our homes don’t just tell the story of where we have been, they also have the ability to lay a path to where we would like to go; what types of relationships we would like to have, the goals we want to achieve.
Now if you find yourself thinking, “Mandie I just wanted help choosing throw cushions for my sofa”, that’s fine too! We’ll just consider it a bonus if you discover something about yourself along the way.
Beautifully supportive spaces, that is what I’m passionate about! I look forward to sharing the journey with you!
